GRAND CHUTE - Zac Peterson's suicide squeeze bunt with the bases loaded in the eighth inning gave Bay Port a 3-2 win over Wilmot for the Division 1 title of the WIAA state baseball tournament Thursday.
Josh Jaro hit a one-out single in the eighth inning to ignite the winning rally.
Bay Port (26-5) scored twice in the fourth but Wilmot (24-6) tied it with a two-run rally in the seventh.
Bay Port won its first state title in its seventh appearance in the state meet.
With runners at second and third in the bottom of the seventh, Ethan Miller struck out the next three batters as Marion held on to win its first state championship 6-5 over Chippewa Falls McDonell in WIAA Division 4 Thursday.
Miller relieved Cody Riemer in the fourth and fanned seven to earn the win.
Marion (27-2) scored all of its runs in the third on a triple by Riemer, doubles by Miller and Tyler Scohen, and singles by Sean Kallas, Eric Kroening and Justin Remminger.
McDonell (22-5) got a solo homer from Andy Davis, who had two hits, as did Robby Cooper and Jake Bohl.
