GREEN BAY - The Blizzard will continue this spring.

Green Bay Bullfrogs baseball team owner Jeff Royle confirmed Wednesday he has a verbal agreement to purchase the Green Bay Blizzard indoor football team. The Blizzard's current owners said two weeks ago they needed new investors or needed to sell the team in order for it to continue. Royle has said the two teams could be served by one front office, offering effencies in operations.

The change comes as the arena football leagues are re-organizing. What was the Arena Football League folded, but is being reconstituted as arenafootball1, which will include teams from the former AFL and AF2, which was the smaller-market league that the Blizzard were members of.

While no formal announcements have been made, Royle says the Blizzard will apply to be in the revamped AF2, which will be a developmental league for AF1. If that doesn't work out, the Indoor Football League - which has teams in cities such Sioux City, Sioux Falls, Omaha and Bloomington, IL - is another possibility, Royle said.

A news conference is expected either Friday or Monday.
