MADISON - The Wautoma Hornets won the division 4 state football title today in Madison, defeating the Big Foot Chiefs 20-0.
Wautoma used a stout defense to shutout previously undefeated Big Foot, from south central Wisconsin, in the title game at Camp Randall.
Wautoma/Faith Christian had beaten Baldwin-Woodville in the semi-finals 42-24 to advance to the title game, after surviving a double overtime win in level one of the playoffs.
Hornets quarterback Jared Abbrederis scored the first touchdown for Wautoma, and sealed the shutout with a late interception, one of two on the day.
