Bay of Green Bay - The Bay of Green Bay isn't exactly known as a walleye tournament hotspot.

"We're going to showcase it and bring tourism dollars and recognition," says AIM President and CEO Scott Matheson.

For the first time, Anglers Insight Marketing or AIM is hosting one of its three Pro Walleye Series fishing tournaments in Green Bay. The sight, however isn't the only first, this is AIM's inaugural season of "green" angling or catch-record-release.

Professional fisherman Tommy Skarlis says, "The fish is caught. We put the fish on the ruler and measure it. Once we verify the length, we write it down on the scorecard. then we take the camera, and while one angler holds the other takes the picture in order to verify. that's how everybody stays honest and all the fish get measured. Then, they go right back in the water."

That differs from other tournaments where occassionally the catch dies in the livewell.

"It's been a little difficult to adjust to because I'm always looking in the live well to make sure they're OK, and of course they're not there. That's just habit and 14 years of fishing, it's kind of weird," says Skarlis.

With a fresh mentality Skarlis is ready to win some greenbacks. The purse is seventy thousand dollars. With such a prize at stake, it's not tough to stay pumped.
