DALLAS - This week is the first time Martel Harrison has ever been to the Dallas area. And he's relying on his cell phone to get around.
"It's really awesome, the versatility of the phones," Harrison said.
Many mobile devices now come with GPS. And many can also download the NFL's Super Bowl XLV app - which gives visitors a quick look at area events.
Fans we spoke with say they'd quite literally be lost without G-P-S.
"A lot. A lot," said Zachary Beilfuss of Clarksville, Tenn., when asked how often he uses his GPS.
"We don't know anywhere we're going for the most part, so every bit of GPS helps," said Harrison, who’s visiting from Bayfield, Calif.
Not just for essential things, but also to discover interesting places.
"We found the mall here in Fort Worth because of the GPS on our phones. We found this awesome taco place in the mall."
An experience that might not have happened just a few years ago.
