GREEN BAY - James Jones hopes his career in Green Bay is not over. The Packers’ third-leading receiver during the regular season is an unrestricted free agent this offseason and knows his future in Green and Gold is somewhat up in the air.
“I'm a Packer right now,” said Jones. “I would love to keep it that way. I hope [GM Ted Thompson] and [coach Mike McCarthy] feel the same way.”
Jones posted career highs with 50 receptions and 679 receiving yards during the regular season. He matched his career-best with five touchdown catches. He also had some frustrating dropped passes and plays.
“I have a wife and a little one on the way now, so I have to do what's best for my family,” said Jones. “Would I love to stay here and play with this team, this receiving corps, these fans? No question, but it ain't up to me.”
Jones had two touchdown receptions in the playoffs. He had 5 catches for 50 yards in the Super Bowl.
