GREEN BAY - Julie Wojta is getting another shot at the WNBA.
The former Phoenix star has been added to the San Antonio Silver Stars training camp roster, the WNBA franchise announced earlier this week.
Wojta was selected in the second round of the 2012 WNBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx. However she did not make the team at the start of the regular season. When injury struck Minnesota in July, Wojta was signed to a seven-day contract with the Lynx. In her lone appearance she grabbed two rebounds.
After her contract with the Lynx expired, Wojta headed to Europe to play for Belgium’s Belfius Namur. During the season she averaged 16 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest.
As a senior (2011-12 season) at Green Bay, Wojta was a second-team All-American selection (the first in team history) and led the Horizon League in both scoring (19.5) and steals (3.8), while ranking second in field goal percentage (.513).
The Silver Stars open the 2013 season on May 24 at home against the Indiana Fever.
