MILWAUKEE (AP) - Brewers ace Yovani Gallardo says he feels better a day after cutting a start short because of a left oblique strain and is day-to-day.

After a doctor's exam, the team decided not to make a roster move to send Gallardo to the 15-day disabled list before Monday's game with the San Francisco Giants. Gallardo strained the muscle in his left side in the third inning of a 7-1 loss to St. Louis on Thursday, hours after making his first All-Star team.

Gallardo (8-4, 2.58 ERA) says it felt like a cramp and he's never had problems with the area before, but wants to remain cautious. Gallardo is expected to have one more start before the All-Star game, but says he'll go to Anaheim regardless of whether or not he's available to pitch.
