A major winter storm will impact southwestern Wisconsin with up to a foot of snow but northeast Wisconsin will be on the fringe of this system and receive very little snow.
Green Bay, Appleton and Oshkosh will receive an inch or less, with most areas south of there between 1 and 2 inches of accumulations.
The far southwestern portion of our viewing area may see 2-3 inches of snow. There is a winter weather advisory in effect for Waushara and Green Lake county today.
Major cities will be impacted by this event. The snow is already falling in Minneapolis where 8-12 inches is expected by tonight.
Chicago is under a winter storm warning and will see snow become heavy later this morning with 5-9 inches of accumulation possible by tomorrow.
Milwaukee is under a winter weather advisory with 2 to 4 inches expected by tonight.
This storm will impact air travel so if you are flying somewhere in the region today, check the status of your flight before heading out.
