Expected to be closed through at least Sunday

SHERWOOD - The family campground at High Cliff State Park is closed because of high water, the DNR says.

The campground is expected to be closed through at least Sunday. The storms that began Wednesday night and continued Thursday morning left several campsites and a main access road under water. Later that night into Friday morning, the water continued to rise, making conditions worse.

Park workers are contacting people with reservations to tell them of the closure.

Group campsite reservations will continue to be honored. The rest of the park remains open.

The DNR says it will post updates to the park’s website .
