Historic blizzard forecast for Northeast

Heavy snow and powerful winds will hit parts of the Northeast.

A Blizzard Watch is in effect for parts of Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Road Island.

Snow will start to fly Friday morning with the heavy snow expected between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Snow amounts are expected to reach between 1 and 2 feet, with isolated areas seeing more.  Winds will gusts over 50 mph causing significant blowing and drifting.  A storm of this magnitude will most likely close the town of Boston Saturday as road crews struggle to clear city streets.

  • #2  27.1"  Feb. 6-7    1978
  • #3  26.3" Feb. 24-27 1969
