Storm spotters are the eyes on the ground for the National Weather Service. Storm spotting is not storm chasing, spotters report to the National Weather Service only if severe storms hit their area.
There is a class in Oshkosh on Thursday, March 14 at 6 p.m. at the EAA Museum.
It's 2 hours long and is full of information from how to identify a severe storm, to how to report severe weather when you see it, and how to be safe when storms hit.
The only requirement is that you are 15 years old or older.
If you can't make the class there are many other offered across Northeast Wisconsin this spring.
