MILWAUKEE (AP) - A messy combination of falling and blowing snow is winding down after making travel difficult in parts of Wisconsin.
Numerous spinouts kept law enforcement agencies busy in eastern Wisconsin Friday morning where the wind off Lake Michigan caused heavy drifting.
Dozens of school districts decided to give students a long weekend, including Green Bay, Manitowoc, Oconto Falls, Wautoma and Wild Rose. The University of Wisconsin-Manitowoc also called off classes.
Snow totals include 7.5 inches in Manitowoc, 7 inches in Merrillan, 5.8 inches in La Crosse and 4 inches in Appleton.
