Bright colors and positivity is hip

INDIANAPOLIS - Nail polish trends are big not only on runways this year, but they are also creeping back into mainstream everyday fashion.

Bright colors, unique French tipped techniques and even glitter now glisten from fingertips in everyday settings.

If you are looking for toxin-free, healthy products for your fingers, hands and toes, look no further than Julep, a hip upstart company with a creative mix of custom colors and hand creams.

Setting them apart from their competition is their “girlfriend” network - empowerment, support, and positive promotion of friends and fellow companies, without the aspect of harsh competiveness.

Read through for your free chance at a free Julep Maven introductory box.

The Julep gift box I recently received contained two polishes, a hand brightener and a sample of their hand scrub.

I simply love the polish. For someone who is hard on a manicure, the polish – when applied in two coats with a topcoat – lasts 6-8 days or longer.

Pro-Tip: for a longer-lasting manicure, lightly apply a clear topcoat every day.

I also love the colors I received: Taylor and Maya. Taylor is a dark, indigo almost blue jean color that leans towards edgy, while Maya is a pale, iridescent pink that leans more towards conservative and demure.

I can’t say enough good things about the hand brightener. I have extra-sensitive skin, so I am wary of all beauty products. The brightener proved to not only work well, but I could also see some significant change with only a few uses. I loved the scent and my hands were much softer.

Another reason to check out Julep is their Julep Maven program.

Watch CEO Jane Park explain the program here in more detail.

This program gives subscribers access to the Sneak Peek Box. As a Julep Maven, you get a customized box of new trends and products every month. Consider it a preview, the same samples they send out to beauty editors and celebrity trendsetters.

What’s really special about the idea, besides getting fun stuff every month, is the online style quiz that helps them select items tailored to individual subscribers. Pretty nifty.

I know I’m singing their praises a lot, but it is sincere. As much as I polish my nails, I appreciate the fact that I can get such rich color with a non-toxic product from a socially responsible company.

Want to win some free Julep products? Julep and Twinkle Twinkle are giving away a free introductory package to the Julep Maven program.
