INDIANAPOLIS - Since Valentine’s Day falls on a weekday this year, juggling work and life after work can be a big hassle. Planning an outfit that can transform from desktop to diva can save you a lot of time, and possibly money.
Make a plan
Make it easy on yourself by planning your outfit the night before. If you are meeting your special someone or just friends later but won’t have time to rush home, pack a small bag with a few items to transform your everyday attire into amazing.
Daytime
Start with your foundation. Something simple, like a little black dress. For work, wear a neat, professional blazer or sweater, low-heeled pumps and opaque tights.
After hours
In your travel bag, pack a pair of fine-weave fishnets, a sexier pair of heels and some fun, flashy accessories. Sparkly baubles and bracelets, costume jewelry can make a low-key look stand out.
You might also want to pack your “nightlife” make-up, as well. While bright red and hot pink lip color is in now, it might not be appropriate for work. Save that for later in the evening to spice up your look with a pop of color.
Dramatic eyes and lashes that may seem too heavy for daytime can work perfect for romantic evening attire. Boost your lashes before you head out on the town.
Be yourself
Most importantly remember that what you are wearing should project you. You should feel good and be comfortable in what you are wearing. People will notice if you are relaxed and happy with yourself.
You can still look and feel good on Valentine’s Day, even if you’ve had a long day at the office.
