NEW YORK (CNN/WABC) - A plate glass dislodged from a balcony on a New York City high rise apartment building Sunday afternoon and fell more than 50 stories to the ground.

It happened on 57th Street in Midtown Manhattan.

The glass damaged several floors of the building as it fell.

At first, authorities thought there might have been an explosion. Now it appears weather may have been a factor.

Amazingly, no one was injured by the falling glass.
