GREEN BAY - Incumbent Jim Schmitt faces challenger Pat Evans for a four-year term as mayor of Green Bay.
Incumbent Mayor Jim Schmitt is running for a third term in office. Schmitt says he deserves another term because he's put the city on the right path with increased economic development and a lowered crime rate.
The mayor is facing off against Brown County Supervisor Pat Evans. The race has been one filled with heated debate and negative campaign ads from both sides.
On Election Day, Schmitt and his daughters voted together before attending mass in the morning. Later in the afternoon, the mayor was out campaigning in downtown Green Bay.
Schmitt will make an appearance at his election night gathering at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay. FOX 11's Laura Smith will be there and will have complete coverage on FOX 11 News at Nine.
Brown County Supervisor Pat Evans decided to run for mayor based on his belief he can do the job better.
Evans is challenging incumbent Mayor Jim Schmitt because he says the city has been mismanaged, and it's ready for a change.
His campaign has focused on improving city services, for example the public works, fire and police departments.
Evans will be at the Rock Garden in Howard where he hopes to celebrate a victory. FOX 11's Kristin Crowley will be there with all the latest on FOX 11 News at Nine.
