1 cup flour
2 Tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup butter
2 cup sliced apples
1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 beaten egg yolks
1 cup heavy cream
Mix together like a pie crust, combining flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, then use pastry blender or fork to mix in butter, just until blended. Pat into 8 x 8 pan. Arrange apples in pan over crust. Sprinkle with remaining sugar and cinnamon on top of apples. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven. Then mix eggs and heavy cream in small bowl and pour over warmed apple pie mixture. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for an additional 25 minutes or until custard is set and golden brown.
