6 oz unsalted butter, melted
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 cup sanding sugar
Mix together butter, sugar, egg until smooth. Stir in the molasses. Add flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Cover, and chill dough for 1 hour. Roll dough into 2 inch size balls and coat with sanding sugar. Place on parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes, or until tops crack.
