4 Tbsp butter, room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups flour
13 ounces smaller jelly beans
1 large egg
Preheat oven to 375. I n mixer bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs 1 at a time until well incorporated.
Beat in the vanilla, then add the baking powder, salt and flour, beating on low speed until fully incorporated
S tir in the jelly beans.
Using a spatula, scrape the dough out of the bowl onto floured surface.
Put flour on your h ands and sprinkle flour on top of the dough.
Then cut the dough in half. Next make a long narrow loaf out of each half and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Beat last egg and bru sh surface of the loves , then sprinkle with colored sugar.
Ba ke approx 25 minutes or until slightly golden brown.
Let cool for about 10-20 minutes until you can handle th e loaves.
Slice loaves diagonally about 3/4 inch thi ck. Place ba ck on cookie sheet (parchment lined) and bake another 10-12 minutes until edges are slightly brown. Transfer to wire rack and let dry completely.
