OSHKOSH - Nearly 1,000 Special Olympics athletes hit the courts in Oshkosh this weekend to play a little competitive basketball.
Forty-seven teams faced off inside the Kolf Sports Center at UW-Oshkosh.
They were competing in the 37th annual Special Olympics Wisconsin State Indoor Sports Tournament.
Several people from around the area volunteered their time at the tournament.
Some say they come back to help year after year.
"You end up taking home more when it's all done than what you actually put into it. There's the passion, the love, the respect. That's why I keep coming back," said volunteer Mark Wolfgram.
Special Olympics of Wisconsin holds 137 statewide competitions and five state tournaments each year.
A survey of local businesses looked at employee numbers and overall outlook for the coming year.
Those who do go to the Packers-Falcons game Sunday will help honor a green and gold legend.
