OMRO - There was no shortage of support or excitement in Omro as a local educator took to the skies Thursday.
Principal Clyde Simonson of Redgranite Elementary School went skydiving.
It was his reward to the students for reaching their reading goals and raising more than $7,500 for their school and community.
"Hard work does pay off and it paid off today with them getting to see me do this," said Simonson.
The students were certainly proud of him, too. They showered him in cheers and applause as soon as he landed.
