WAUTOMA - Waushara County authorities have made an arrest in connection with a murder at a motel.
Sheriff's officials say Travis Lee Petersen, 42, of rural Wautoma, was arrested Monday for the murder of Robert J. Kasun. The 50-year-old Kasun's body was found March 6 in a room at the Mt. Morris Motel. Based on an autopsy, the medical examiner's preliminary finding was that Kasun died of blunt-force injuries to his head and abdomen, inflicted by another person.
Investigators say they arrested Petersen after taking evidence from the scene and through search warrants.They did not release more information, other than to say the public is not and has not been in danger.
Petersen has not been formally charged in the case.
