CALUMET COUNTY - A woman is dead and a man has been hospitalized after the pair was found unresponsive in an ice shanty on Lake Winnebago.
Calumet County authorities say they received a report of a medical call approximately half a mile off Ecker Lakeland Drive around 4 p.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived, they discovered a 30-year-old female and a 37-year-old male in an ice shanty. Both were unresponsive.
The man was flown by Eagle 3 helicopter to Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah, and later taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name is not being released pending notification of relatives.
Sheriff's officials, along with the Calumet County Medical Examiners office, are continuing their investigation.
An autopsy on the woman is scheduled for Monday.
