GREEN BAY - Several Northeast Wisconsin high school dance teams are on their way to the state championships in La Crosse.
The 2013 Eastern Regional Varsity Dance Championships took place Saturday in Wausau at D.C. Everest High School. Top finishers in each division earned the right to compete for state titles in Pom, Kick, Hip Hop and Jazz.
Green Bay Southwest High School took home first place in Division 1 Pom and Kick. Bayport High School qualified in Division 1 with third place finishes in both Pom and Kick. Hortonville High School earned a first place Division 2 Pom regional title along with a second place Division 1 Kick performance.
Other area schools qualifying for state include Ashwaubenon, Denmark, De Pere, Freedom, Kaukauna, Little Chute, Luxemburg-Casco, Notre Dame, Oshkosh West, Sheboygan North, Sheboygan South, West De Pere and Wrightstown.
Those advancing from the Eastern Division will compete against winners in the Southern and Western Divisions at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse.
