GREEN BAY - The Mason Street Bridge in Green Bay was shut down to traffic Sunday evening for about 90 minutes.
It was reported there was an issue with the drawbridge around 6:00.
Authorities decided to try and close the bridge temporarily.
At that time, Green Bay police said traffic was backed up westbound past 12th St.
Those who attempted to drive over the bridge were instructed to exit the span by driving down the on ramps.
Motorists, some who said they waited as long as 20 minutes to get off the bridge, were rerouted to the other two downtown bridges.
The Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation told FOX 11 it was sending staff to the bridge to look at the issue.
Police reported the bridge reopened around 7:30 p.m.
