GREEN BAY - There's something new for you to check out at the Green Bay Botanical Garden.
The Frederick Baer Perennial Garden was dedicated Monday. It features more than 800 perennials, 2,000 bulbs, and 50 trees, shrubs and roses.
Planning for the project started about two years ago.
Members of the Baer family were on hand. They say the garden is in memory of Frederick Baer, who passed away in 2006, and was an avid gardener.
"He had a lot of stress in his life and it was something that was kind of simple and he didn't have to think about so hard but at the end of the day he could look back and see what you had done and feel good about it," said Dick Baer, son of Frederick Baer.
"He liked watching things grow and making things grow and making things prettier that was something that was very important to him," said Chuck Baer, son of Frederick Baer.
The new garden is in the west corner of the Green Bay Botanical Garden.
