GREEN BAY - Students at Fort Howard Elementary School have been making bird houses that will be donated to local businesses.
Earlier this week they made picnic tables for people living in Habitat for Humanity homes.
Instructors say it's a learning experience for the students.
"They absolutely love it. I ask them when they take their projects home, you know, how did your parents like that? They didn't think that I built that, someone else built that for me, so it's, they're really taking their skills and this is all built by them; I mean, maybe we're helping them take a nail out, but it's 100 percent built by the kids," said Tammy VanEss, summer school instructor.
The materials for the projects were donated by Habitat for Humanity.
