ASHWAUBENON - A new sports facility is offering athletes a place to practice, away from the snow and cold.
A grand opening was held Saturday in Ashwaubenon at Synergy Fields.
It's an indoor field made of synthetic, grass-like turf.
Athletes of all ages tried out the new turf, along with some Packers players.
Football legend Don Beebe was also there, signing autographs for his new book.
The field's owner says facilities like this one are especially great for kids.
"We always push our kids to do things as game-like as possible in training, and this really adds that game-like element to it, with us being able to have them come in and put cleats on," said Scotty Smith.
Synergy Fields will be the official training facility of the Green Bay Blizzard.
It will also be open to all athletes for league play, training camps, or to rent by the hour.
