GREEN BAY - Lambeau Field is setting its sights high - literally.
The Green Bay Packers have reached agreement with NEW Water, the Green Bay area's sewerage district, that Lambeau Field with its new south end is now the taller building.
And Thursday, a gathering was held to acknowledge that. Workers from NEW Water used the occasion to cheer on the green and gold. You see, the district had claimed to have the tallest building in town. But to do that, it had to count the 10 stories of its structure that are underground. That's how it got to 15 stories.
Lambeau Field is now 18 feet taller than that.
"It's an honor that we have had, what we believed we had the tallest building in Green Bay, that we are honored to turn that distinction over to the Green Bay Packers and Lambeau Field," NEW Water Treatment Manager Bruce Bartel said.
