All aboard! A new depot is opening at the National Railroad Museum in Ashwaubenon.
The "Jodey Lenfestey Children's Discovery Depot" opens tomorrow.
It's located in the renovated Hood Junction Depot at the Museum.
It's a brand new exhibit hall featuring interactive exhibits for kids.
Organizers say they wanted public opinion before making the new exhibit.
"What they were telling us over and over was that they wanted a place for families and a place for people with special needs or those early childhood learners that weren't quite ready for the big trains but were really interested in railroads," said Jacqueline Frank, executive director of the National Railroad Museum. "So we were able to put together a very interactive exhibit for those people."
There's plenty of fun for kids, families and students.
Those who visit the museum can take part in a train simulator, train safety lessons and you can even learn how to operate a train.
