ASHWAUBENON - A suspect in a pair of armed robberies in the Green Bay area is in police custody.
Officials say around 11:15 p.m. Saturday, a woman was walking near the Days Inn parking lot on Holmgren Way. She had just left a wedding reception at Stadium View Bar and was heading to her hotel room.
Police say the suspect had a gun, grabbed her purse and ran off.
At 1:45 a.m. Sunday, a second armed robbery happened in the city of Green Bay. It was later determined that the same person was likely behind both robberies.
Just after 2 a.m. Sunday, Green Bay police responded to a complaint about reckless driving involving two vehicles. Officers were able to stop both vehicles. Officials say the driver of one of the vehicles was the suspect in the robberies. He was arrested and booked in the Brown County jail.
He faces charges of armed robbery, battery and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.
