ASHWAUBENON - The Green and Gold are helping high school football fields around the area.
Friday night the Packers Foundation awarded Ashwaubenon High School with a $250,000 grant to renovate its football stadium and practice fields.
The school's football field is already completed -- the rest of the renovations should be done by next fall.
People close to this project say the fields will be used for more than just football.
"The kids love it. They're in the marching band. They use it for PE classes. We use it for football and soccer," said Dave Steavpack, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Ashwaubenon High School.
The Packers foundation has secured nearly $1.5 million in grants through the NFL for youth and prep fields since 1998.
