GREEN BAY - A much anticipated ride at Bay Beach Amusement Park might make its debut before the end of the season.
City officials say testing has started on the Sea Dragon. If all goes well with finishing touches and inspection, the ride may open Labor Day weekend.
Video posted online Friday shows Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt taking part in the Sea Dragon’s maiden voyage.
The Sea Dragon was purchased this last spring for more than $670,000. The ride is located just to the southwest of the Zippin Pippin roller coaster.
Tickets for the Sea Dragon cost 75 cents.
After next Friday, Bay Beach will be open weekends through September.
