BROWN COUNTY - Brown County Sheriff's officials say a small plane crashed in a field Saturday just after noon.
Deputies responded to the scene located on the east side of Van Ess Road and just north of County Highway N.
Upon arrival, officials determined the pilot, a 60-year-old Green Bay man, had very minor injuries. He was treated at the scene and released.
The pilot told authorities he lost power on takeoff and attempted to land in a field adjacent to the airstrip.
On touch down, the landing gear collapsed, and the plane skidded on its fuselage coming to rest.
The plane is a total loss estimated at $25 thousand.
