DE PERE - A 64-year-old De Pere homeowner was injured trying to fight off masked people who had invaded his home Tuesday night.
Police say at least three masked people walked into the home in the 1200 block of Driftwood Drive through the front door at around 11 o’clock.
They confronted the homeowner who was watching television and who then fought them off.
Officers say the suspects then ran away.
Police say they believe the invasion was not random.
"We're led to believe that this was a targeted pre-planned event specifically for that residence that whoever had entered the home had an idea of what they were looking for and potentially where they were going to look for that,” said De Pere Police Captain Dale Haagen.
If you have information, you're asked to contact De Pere police at (920) 339-4078.
