DOOR COUNTY - Door County officials say a group of divers discovered the body of another diver in Lake Michigan by Whitefish Bay Saturday.
Sheriff Terry Vogel says investigators believe the body is that of a diver who disappeared on September 4, 1999.
Vogel said in a release Monday that an autopsy was conducted in Green Bay to assist in positive identification. The results are pending.
He says the department attempted to search for the body over the years, but they were never able to find it.
Officials say the group of divers found the body in about 225 feet of water.
