MANITOWOC - Manitowoc police have released dramatic dash cam video showing a police chase which ended in a crash and gunfire.
The suspect ended up being a 14-year-old boy.
Authorities say he ran away from his home in Illinois.
The incident happened in June of last year; however, an internal investigation is still ongoing.
The dramatic ending to a police chase through Manitowoc started with a routine call.
Police say they heard reports of a reckless driver.
However, when police caught up with the pickup truck, the driver sped off.
During the chase, the truck collided with a squad car, but it kept going.
And eventually, the truck even ran into a utility pole.
The truck then backs off and starts to drive off again.
That's when an officer began firing shots toward the vehicle. In all, seven shots were fired.
The officer, Larry Perronne, is on administration duty as the internal investigation continues.
State officials have already cleared him of any criminal wrong going.
Authorities say the truck was reported stolen in Illinois.
The boy did suffer minor injuries.
