STURGEON BAY - A Door County mother charged in the death of her infant daughter stood mute in court Monday and had a plea entered for her.
Melissa Martinez's attorney entered a not guilty plea on her behalf in Door County court.
Martinez is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and child neglect.
Authorities say Martinez left her eight-month-old daughter in her SUV last October.
The vehicle was left on with the child inside for several hours.
Police found the infant unresponsive.
Martinez's blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit four hours after the child was found.
She is due back in court in April.
