MANITOWOC - A new building at Silver Lake College in Manitowoc is giving musicians a place to call home.
The Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance was dedicated in a special ceremony on Friday.
The center includes a concert hall, recital hall, rehearsal studios and classrooms.
The college broke ground for the $10 million project last year. School officials say the building has been a long time coming.
"It's a dream come true. We had been hoping and praying and waiting for a building like this for about 30 years and now it's a reality and it's hard to imagine that it's really here," said Graduate Music Director Sister Lorna Zemke.
The building will also host this year's "Artist Music Series." The first group of the series will be the Concord Chamber Orchestra from Milwaukee. It is set to perform on Sunday, October 27th.
