BONDUEL - Hundreds of people lined Green Bay Street in Bonduel for an annual tradition.
Actually, it's Bonduel's 101st annual 4th of July parade.
And it was hot, with temperatures topping 90-plus degrees.
"Oh, it's too hot. This is ridiculous," said Pete Smith of West Bend. "I'm dying."
"Oh, it's really hot. I'm just dripping with sweat," said Angela Steffens of Green Bay.
Possibly so hot, the Bonduel Polar Bear Snowmobile Club was delirious.
"Little hot, looking for snow," said Dennis Bergsbaken, a member of the club, walking with the club's float in the parade. "Not [going to find some snow] for a while, but we got to try."
Some parade-goers say this 4th of July is the hottest they can remember.
"There's been some warm ones, but this seems like it's been hotter than we've seen before," said Jerry Roloff of Shawano.
Candy - a staple of nearly every parade - wasn't the only thing being passed out.
Bottled water and freeze pops were also on the menu.
And as temperatures rose throughout the day, many parade-goers are using different ways to try and stay cool.
Like Sheri Schill of Gillett.
"I was not prepared at all," said Schill of the heat. "And I happened to have (a towel) with me, so I figured I would need it."
Others parade-goers, like Dave Berkhahn of Shawano, are going with the "hydration" approach, utilizing what little breeze there is and a cooler full of beer.
"Yeah, it seems to be working right now," said Berkhahn of his method. "Yes!"
