SHAWANO - A Shawano County man charged with animal neglect appeared in court Monday.
Joseph Brunner, 50, pleaded not guilty and waived his preliminary hearing.
Brunner was arrested two weeks ago after police found several dead cows on his farm in Belle Plaine.
He told authorities that the animals had been sick with pneumonia and wasting disease.
If convicted, Brunner faces up to three and a half years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
