WAUPACA COUNTY - The Waupaca County Sheriff's Department is investigating the murder of a woman whose body was found Wednesday in a burnt-out car in the Town of Harrison.
The department was called to investigate what was reported to be a burned vehicle, located in the Town of Harrison. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered the body of a deceased woman inside of the vehicle.
An autopsy to determine a cause of death is pending; however, investigators consider the death a homicide. The victim is a 36-year-old woman from Plover. Her identity is not being released at this time.
She may have been killed before being placed in the car, according to Sheriff Brad Hardel.
The Wisconsin State Crime Lab, in coordination with the Waupaca County Sheriff's Office, the Village of Plover Police Department and the Division of Criminal Investigation has responded to a second location, an apartment in the Village of Plover, to conduct further investigation.
No one is in custody related to this investigation at this time. Anyone who believes they may have information should contact the Waupaca County Sheriff's Office at 715-258-4466.
