A Luxemburg teenager is dead after a crash in Kewaunee County.
It happened Monday at about 5:30 p.m. The Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department says a 17-year-old girl was driving on Highway 54 just west of Rendezvous Road in the Township of Luxemburg, when she tried to pass another vehicle and lost control.
Her car slid into an SUV traveling the opposite direction. Crews used the Jaws of Life to extricate the girl. She was taken to a Green Bay hospital, where she later died of her injuries. The driver of the SUV was a 45-year-old New Franken man. There's no word on his injuries.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Authorities say the roads were snow covered and slippery at the time of the crash.
The Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department is investigating the crash. The names of the victims have not yet been released.
