ASHWAUBENON - With the snip of a scissors, the FOX 11 News and Content Centerwas open for visitors, Wednesday morning. The $2-million expansionproject is finally complete.
"This content center provides one of the most modern, efficientand comfortable work environments in the country," said Jay Zollar,General Manager/V.P.
Area leaders were invited to stop by, mingle and take a tour ofthe new facility.
"Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous facility. I can see there's roomfor expansion and it's pretty awesome," said Mike Aubinger,Ashwaubenon Village President.
"You can feel the enthusiasm of the staff. They take pride inwhat they're doing and how it fits together," said Tom Hinz, BrownCounty Executive.
Many people commented on how 'open,' the new addition is. TheFOX 11 News and Content Center is where our news, weather andsports departments are located.
"Beautiful facility. I love the technology, and how open it is.I like how you can tap into cameras on this floor, and not just inthe studio. Very cool," said Karen Smith, Chamber Ambassador.
Our conference room was something that people noticed, rightaway. It doesn't have the typical big round table and chairs.Instead, there are individual chairs, with tables. It's the room weuse for news meetings and brainstorming.
"I think it promotes creativity. It's really great for you,"said Karen Smith, Chamber Ambassador.
There is a room called the Ingest Center. It's a state of theart area where the video from the day is taken in, to eventually beused in a newscast and on our website.
"Televisions, computer systems, and hook-ups. Everything youhave around you. It's a really up to date facility, that will lastyou a while," said Mike Aubinger, Ashwaubenon VillagePresident.
"This is really neat. It's exciting," said Tom Hinz, BrownCounty Executive.
"This is all about providing an environment for our workers togo out and produce local content, local features and local stories.Things that the viewers of Northeast Wisconsin want to watch. Andthat's our mission, here at FOX 11, to appease our viewers," saidJay Zollar, General Manager/V.P.
