MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Madison police say scrap-metal thieves have vandalized the same church for the third time in three years.
A WISC-TV report on Monday says the thieves targeted Trinity Lutheran Church earlier this month. A maintenance worker reported that someone had cut away a 10-foot section of copper gutter tube and two 20-foot sections of copper air-conditioning pipe.
Officials estimate the damage at $8,000.
Thieves also stole copper downspouts from the church in May 2012 and April 2011.
