MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Capitol Police say an officer who was stabbed in a state office building in Milwaukee is in stable condition.
Police say Officer Greg Friberg was stabbed twice in the neck on Wednesday after responding to a duress alarm in the building.
Milwaukee police say they have arrested a 25-year-old West Allis man in the case. They have not yet identified him.
Stephanie Marquis is a spokeswoman for the state Department of Administration, which oversees the Capitol Police. She said in a statement Thursday that Friberg has been with the Capitol Police since 2001 and is frequently assigned to patrol that building. She says he is recovering.
