MILWAUKEE (AP) - A Catholic high school teacher in Milwaukee has appeared in court on charges she sexually assaulted two male students.
Twenty-eight-year-old Megan Garland stayed quiet as she appeared Monday in Milwaukee County Intake Court.
Garland is currently suspended from her job as a science teacher at Messmer High School. Prosecutors have charged her with sexually assaulting two teenage boys.
In one instance, an adult told police Garland was caught having sex with a 14-year-old Messmer student in another school's parking lot.
In court, Garland's attorney argued the statements given to police aren't enough to prosecute the woman.
Prosecutors maintain police work points to a teacher taking advantage of her students.
WTMJ-AM reports a trial date was not set. Garland is due back in court June 24.
