GRAND CHUTE - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers will open the season featuring several of the Milwaukee Brewers top prospects. The team announced their Opening Day roster on Monday.
Baseball America ranks shortstop Yadiel Rivera as the 15th best prospect in the Brewers organization, making him the highest-ranked prospect set to start the season with the Timber Rattlers. The team will also feature David Goforth and Drew Gagnon, both pitchers ranked in Baseball America's top 25 Brewers prospects.
The team will also feature a Northeast Wisconsin product. Pitcher Chad Piece pitched for Fond du Lac High School, before playing collegiately with Arkansas and UW-Milwaukee.
