The Notre Dame girls golf team finished in fifth place at the Division 1 state tournament after carding a 342 Tuesday in the final round at University Ridge Golf Course in Verona.
The Tritons’ two-day total was 686 after shooting 344 on Monday. The Tritons were led by Jessie Staed, who tied for sixth individually with a two-day total of 155, 11-over-par. Staed shot a 77 on Tuesday after a 78 Monday.
Meanwhile, Kimberly placed 11th with a score of 761 (387-374) and was led by Alexa Laurino (86-85). Also, Green Bay Preble’s Maddy Neumeier tied for eighth after shooting a two-day score of 156 (81-75). The 75 Tuesday was the fifth best score in the field.
Arrowhead won the state title with a score of 638, while Verona was second at 648.
Verona’s Jessica Reinecke repeated as medalist with a two-day total of 143 (69-74), which is 1-under-par.
In Division 2, Fox Valley Lutheran placed second with a two-day total of 702 (352-350). The Foxes were 21 shots behind Edgewood (681), which won the state title for the third year in a row.
FVL was led by Kayla Priebe, who tied for second overall with a two-day score of 157 (80-77). Caroline Lake of Edgewood was the medalist with a total of 141 (73-68).
